Questions and answers

Any figure here is an upper limit that depends on the condition of the tire and the type of damage; see the warranty terms.

Most asked

What is Tire Guard?

A professional workshop treatment that coats the inner tread of a tubeless tire with a self-sealing layer.

How does it seal a puncture?

The material grips around an object that enters the tread and closes the hole from the inside once the object is pulled out.

How large a puncture can it seal?

Yellow and black material: tread punctures up to 8 mm; blue ST-70: up to 12 mm, depending on the condition of the tire and the type of damage. Warranty terms

Does it protect the sidewall?

No. Only the inner tread area is covered.

Does it affect wheel balancing?

Not if installed correctly: the material is spread evenly and the tire is balanced as usual.

Does it affect TPMS sensors?

It is not injected through the valve and is applied away from TPMS components, so it should not interfere when installed correctly.

How long does the protection last?

It is designed for the working life of the tire: up to 80,000 km, depending on the condition of the tire and the type of damage. Warranty terms

Yellow vs. black vs. blue material?

Yellow: normal and warm climates. Black: severe cold. Blue ST-70: the high-performance option.

How the treatment works

How does the process work?

The tire is taken off the rim, cleaned inside, sprayed while rotating, then remounted and balanced.

Is the material injected through the valve?

No. The tire is dismounted, and the material is applied directly inside.

Where is the material applied?

Directly under the tread, not on the sidewalls.

What happens when a nail or screw goes in?

The material surrounds the object to limit air loss, then seals the path once the object is removed.

Does the material move around inside?

No. It forms a firm, stable layer, not a free-flowing liquid.

Is it the same as a liquid sealant or Fix-a-Flat?

No. It is a workshop treatment involving dismounting, preparation, application, remounting and balancing.

Is the seal permanent or temporary?

Designed for long-term sealing of supported tread punctures; serious damage still needs professional inspection.

Can I keep using the tire after it seals?

Yes, if the puncture is in the supported tread area and there is no serious structural damage.

Tires and protection

Which tires can be treated?

Suitable tubeless tires.

Which vehicles?

Cars, SUVs, motorcycles, trucks and buses.

Can new tires be treated before sale?

Yes, and they can be stocked as protected inventory.

Can used tires be treated?

Yes, if they pass inspection.

Does it work on nails, screws and similar objects?

Yes, within the supported size and in the tread area.

Does it work on run-flat tires?

Depends on construction and the tire maker's requirements; check with the technical team first.

Can it be used on winter tires?

Yes; black material is generally better for very cold climates.

What is the maximum tire size?

Motorcycles/scooters up to 20", cars/SUVs up to 22", truck/bus up to 24.5" rims.

Driving, safety and performance

Will it cause vibration at high speed?

Not if the correct amount is applied and the tire is balanced properly.

Does it change how the tire drives?

The tire remains a normal air-filled tire; driving behavior is not meant to change noticeably.

How much weight does it add?

About 1.0–2.6 kg for passenger tires; less for motorcycles, more for trucks and buses.

Does the material stay in place?

Yes, it bonds to the inner tread area.

Can treated tires be driven at highway speeds?

Yes, if the tire suits the vehicle and was treated, mounted and balanced correctly.

Does temperature affect the material?

Yes: standard material for normal/warm climates, black for cold conditions.

Does the tire still need regular inspection?

Yes. The treatment does not replace routine maintenance or inspection after serious damage.
